As our activities expand and our team’s workload increases, we seek an Operations Director to strengthen our daily operations, build effective internal processes, and ensure sustainable growth.

  • Location: Hybrid (Kyiv, Ukraine – combination of online and offline work)
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Contract Duration: 6 months (with the possibility of extension)

Purpose of the Role

The Operations Director will oversee the organization’s daily operations, coordinate teams, implement strategic decisions, and support the stable development of Gender Stream during martial law and post-war recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold the organization’s core values: humanity, efficiency, and honesty.

• Ensure compliance with legal regulations and donor requirements.

• Manage project activities and oversee the fulfillment of grant obligations.

• Coordinate work across departments (advocacy, communications, fundraising, technical support, etc.).

• Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.

• Promote professional development and foster a collaborative work environment.

• Introduce effective process management methodologies.

• Be prepared for business trips within Ukraine and abroad (EU and other partner countries).

• Develop and execute an operational plan.

• Monitor and evaluate project effectiveness and goal achievement.

• Create and enforce internal policies and guidance on financial, legal, and project-related matters.

• Approve grant applications, ensuring financial, legal, and project compliance.

• Establish and oversee internal and public reporting systems.

• Contribute to team building, development, and mentoring.

• Support project leaders in planning, budgeting, and implementation alongside the Executive Director.

Qualifications & Requirements

• University degree in management, law, social sciences, or a related field.

• At least two years of experience in a managerial role in the non-governmental sector.

• Strong experience in project management and cross-team coordination.

• Understanding of human rights, feminism, LGBTQI+ issues, and humanitarian response.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to make decisions in uncertain conditions.

• Fluent in Ukrainian and English (both written and spoken).
