Gender Stream is relentlessly advocating for fair accountability in cases of hate crimes. However, without legislative support and official recognition, we still lack accurate data on the prevalence and scope of these crimes. Often, hate crimes are registered under different categories, distorting the true picture.
This is exactly the problem addressed by the «Vartovi» platform, which is being developed by the Gender Stream team.
It will serve as a tool for identifying, monitoring, tracking, and analyzing incidents and trends of hate crimes, and will be used in collaboration with the police. The Platform will be the first of its kind and is intended to raise public awareness about hate crimes.
In the future, this role will be fulfilled by Bill No. 5488, which is essential for building a safe society. We believe that everyone, regardless of their identity, has the right to protection.
