Hybrid format (online/offline), Kyiv, Ukraine.
Type of employment:
Full-time employment.
Contract period:
6 months, with the option to extend.
Purpose of the position:
The Operations Director is responsible for effectively managing the organization’s daily operational processes, coordinating the work of teams, implementing strategic decisions, and supporting the sustainable development of Gender Stream during martial law and post-war reconstruction.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Uphold the organization’s core values: humanity, effectiveness, and integrity.
- Ensure the organization’s activities comply with applicable legislation and donor requirements.
- Oversee project implementation and monitor compliance with grant obligations.
- Coordinate collaboration across departments (advocacy, communications, fundraising, technical support, etc.).
- Develop and implement internal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Support staff professional development and foster effective teamwork.
- Develop and implement methodologies for effective process management.
- Be available for business travel within Ukraine and internationally (EU countries and other partner countries).
- Develop and implement the organization’s operational plan.
- Monitor and evaluate the achievement of project objectives.
- Develop internal policies, approaches, instructions, and guidelines, and oversee their implementation in financial, legal, and project-related matters.
- Review and approve grant applications, including their financial, legal, and project components.
- Develop and implement internal and public reporting systems.
- Contribute to team building, development, and mentoring.
- Coordinate and mentor project leads and teams in project planning, budgeting, and implementation in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of management experience in the non-governmental (NGO) sector.
- Proven experience in project management and cross-functional team coordination.
- Strong understanding of human rights, feminism, LGBTQI+, and humanitarian response.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to make decisions in uncertain and dynamic environments.
- Professional proficiency in both Ukrainian and English (written and spoken).
